Description
Headquartered in Toronto, the Canada Infrastructure Bank (CIB) is responsible for investing in new infrastructure projects.The CIB's mission is to work with provincial, territorial, municipal, federal, Indigenous and private sector investor partners to transform the way infrastructure is planned, financed and delivered in Canada.
The Manager, Financial Reporting (12-month contract with a possibility of extension), reports to the Head, Finance & Asset Management, and leads the preparation and analysis of the CIB's quarterly and annual financial reporting in accordance with Public Sector Accounting guidelines, the Financial Administration Act, CIB policies and all applicable legislative and regulatory requirements.
The successful candidate will also assist with the day-to-day management of the CIB's financial operations including the build-out and maintenance of the financial policies, processes and systems.
Deal Position Papers and AccountingComplete position papers on each deal including deal structure, terms and key conditions tied back to the supporting agreement and assess accounting impact including classification, valuation, control etc.
External and Internal AuditManage external audit with the Office of the Auditor General and external auditors
Manage internal audit on financial and system processes
Contribute to the Finance and Audit committee reporting, including:
Accounting Matters:
Supplementary decks discussing accounting policies
Operations Overview:
Update on various corporate initiatives from each department
Corporate Operations
Manage the contract management database and processes
Lead contract reporting processes including spend analysis
Monitor contract expiry dates
Accounts Payable and Receivable Processes
Manage approval process with department heads and Senior Finance Management
Manage monthly and quarterly reconciliations including bank, payroll, etc.
Policy & Procedures
Manage the Travel and Hospitality policy
Provide ongoing monitoring of the Procurement policy
Manage the deployment and adoption of the expense reimbursement system that integrates with ERP and CRM
Manage the deployment and adoption of a procurement database that integrates with the ERP and CRM in conjunction with the Legal department
MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred
~ Proficiency in financial software and tools and advanced spreadsheet applications
~ Demonstrated knowledge of key finance issues (e.g., accounting, treasury, tax, capital)
~ Demonstrated ability to manage complexity, including multiple projects, and meet challenging timelines
~ Ability to identify, assess and prioritize risk
~ Bilingual French and English (written and oral) is an asset
