Accounting Manager - Toronto, Canada - Hain Celestial
Description
PURPOSE
The Manager-Accounting supports the Management team with timely and accurate Financial and Management accounting, analysis and reporting.
This will include, but is not limited to, general accounting functions, tax and cash management, audit and SOX compliance, substantiating financial transactions and maintaining accounting controls.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the monthend closing activities, such as close and open accounting periods, prepare journal entries, run monthend financial reports and update HFM
- Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliation, perform variance analysis and provide insights on the drivers of the variances
- Create and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and ensures financial information have been recorded accurately.
- Update the general ledger master data on a timely basis
- Assist in the coordination and preparation of required audit schedules during SOX audits, external annual audits and government tax audits
- Assist in cash forecasting, cash flow estimates and preparation of tax schedules
- Identify and assist with/or implement processes to improve efficiency and accuracy in the financial reporting and control procedures
COMPETENCIES (Behavioural & Technical Skills)
- Deep knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
- Advanced Microsoft Excel
- ERP Experience
- Effective communication skills both written and verbal
- Ability to adapt and work well in a continuously changing environment
- Ability to plan, organize, lead, motivate and advise
- Team player, fast learner and ability to work effectively under pressure and within timelines
- Overtime required during key periods, such as monthend, quarterend, annual close
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor Degree in Accounting
- 510 years' experience in general accounting functions
- ERP system experience
- Accounting Designation (CPA) attained

Head Office in New York
External (KPMG, Banks, tax auditors)

Office environment utilizing the phone and computer frequently. Requires mínimal physical effort. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where problems occur and volumes are heavy. Overtime as required. Tasks do not expose employee to physically unpleasant or hazardous conditions.
Pay:
Up to $110,000.00 per year
