_Catholic Social Services is currently recruiting for a permanent full-time (40 hours/week) Service Coordinator II / Intake Coordinator in Wetaskiwin.


The 40 hours/week for this role are split: 24 hours as a Service Coordinator and 16 hours as an Intake Coordinator.

Job Summary:


The
_Service Coordinator _is responsible for the coordination of support services to individual clients and their families impacted by prenatal alcohol exposure or FASD.

This position will be tasked with conducting initial intake and assessment, service planning and conducting follow up meetings to verify that the needs and requirements of individuals and their families are being met.

The Service Coordinator will connect the family to appropriate social service providers as necessary.

Other duties will include creating and maintaining case files in a confidential manner, acting as a point of contact for various support service agencies and as an advocate for the client.


_Intake Coordinators_ have extensive knowledge about the social needs in the Wetaskiwin community. They assess the immediate needs of individuals struggling with homelessness, food security, poverty and mental health needs and addictions. Individuals come from diverse cultural, ethnic and socio-economic background with challenging problems and life situations. Intake Coordinators handle high volume of incoming call and walk-ins inquiries with tact and sensitivity. They provide one-stop intake and ensure the clients have access to the Service in a timely manner. They also serve as an information hub to community resources.


Skills and Abilities:


  • A welldefined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills.
  • Strong knowledge of community resources.
  • Computer literacy, including effective working skills of MS Word, Excel and Outlook required.
  • Excellent teamwork and team building skills.
  • Sound leadership and staff management skills.
  • High degree of resourcefulness, flexibility, and adaptability.
  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Politically and culturally sensitive.
  • Experience and knowledge in the area of addictions and mental health.
  • Experience and knowledge in home visitation an asset.
  • High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis, and/or reasoning to identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts.
  • Strong morals and ethics, along with a commitment to privacy.
  • Must be able to be depended upon to plan and organize work effectively and ensure its completion.
  • Program planning and development skills an asset.

Education and Qualifications:


  • Diploma or Degree in Human Services (or equivalent)
  • Minimum 3 years' experience working with individuals with emotional and behavioral needs
  • Experience supporting individuals with complex and high behaviours
  • Supervisory experience is considered an asset
  • Valid First Aid and CPR
  • Criminal Record Check
  • Child Intervention Record Check
  • Clear and current driver's abstract
  • A vehicle and valid class 5 driver's license requirement to transport clients in your personal vehicle
  • Proof of vehicle insurance showing $2 million liability coverage

What We Offer:


  • The compensation for the
    Service Coordinator position is
    $22.52 to $25.34 per hour based on qualifications and experience. (24 hours/week)
  • The compensation for the
    Intake Coordinator hours is
    $25.44 to $28.61 per hour based on qualifications and experience. (16 hours/week)
