This analytical technical officer position would appeal to someone who is interested in analytical technology within the realm of biological research.

Screening Criteria:


Education:

Bachelor degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology or relevant related discipline.

Experience:


  • Experience with the operation of mass spectrometers, in combination with chromatographic techniques (liquid chromatography).
  • Experience with biological sample preparation for chromatographic and mass spectrometry analysis.
  • Experience with analysis of protein and/or peptide mass spectrometry data.
  • Experience in making scientific and technical recommendations and providing technical support in a laboratory setting.
  • Experience in the preparation of high quality scientific reports/manuscripts/presentations.

  • Knowledge of the fundamental and practical aspects of protein and peptide chromatography.
  • Knowledge of the fundamentals and practical aspects of biological sample preparation techniques.
  • Ability to develop, troubleshoot and optimise analytical methods.
  • Ability to understand and use specialized domainspecific software as well as general office products.
  • Ability to analyze data, interpret results, and identify and troubleshoot problems.
  • Ability to prepare scientific reports and maintain proper records in a lab environment.
  • Solid knowledge of basic and safe laboratory practices.

Rates under review.
From $58,445 to $80,040 per annum.
