On-Demand Shuttle Supervisor
PWTransit Canada requires a full-time On-Demand Shuttle Supervisor for its Edmonton On-Demand Shuttle service operations.


The On-Demand Shuttle Supervisor is a hands-on position that requires a strong knowledge of transportation and the geographic area; perfect for an experienced and dedicated bus/ride-share/shuttle industry professional.

The primary responsibility is leading and mentoring a team of Shuttle Operators while also providing timely support and communication to our clients and passengers.

This is a full-time position with a rotating 4 on / 4 off schedule (10 hour days).


Principal Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Provide support to and supervise On-Demand Shuttle Operators
  • Work with, support and provide coverage in Dispatch
  • Ensure adequate daily coverage of Shuttle services and monitor operator shift reporting
  • Maintain regular communication with the City of Edmonton and PWTransit management regarding service as/when required
  • Professionally deal with public, customer and staff inquiries and find diplomatic solutions for concerns
  • Work closely with the Vehicle Maintenance Department to ensure adequate numbers of units are available to cover shuttle routes
  • Monitor Via On-Demand Shuttle Software Program to ensure system functionality and performance
  • Ensure operating procedures are adhered to
  • Verify compliance (and correct staff if required) with statutes and regulations
  • Dispatch and make temporary changes to driver shifting and vehicle assignments as required
  • Initiate emergency assistance procedures in the event of vehicle collisions or passenger injuries and initiate associated formal incident investigations
  • Ensure that incident/collision reports are completed when required
  • Ensure all required paperwork/requests are completed accurately and in a timely manner
  • Offer suggestions to improve existing operation processes
  • Effectively deal with operator performance issues, and/or issues/concerns to management as required
  • Attend company training, such as Leadership courses, as required

Requirements:


  • Previous bus/rideshare/taxi/shuttle operations and supervisory experience
  • Experience in the public transit industry an asset
  • Previous safety and COR Audit experience an asset
  • Previous experience with employee supervision, performance management and managing discipline a considerable asset
  • Knowledge of WCB and Labour laws
  • Familiarity with City of Edmonton roadways and geography
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong organizational planning, multitasking and problemsolving skills
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and ability to work with smartphone apps

Job Types:

From $53,000.00 per year
