Role Designation:
Hybrid - 1-2 days in the Office.

This position is an
18-month contract opportunity and reports to the Manager, Business Planning & Analysis, Financial Operations


The
Associate Analyst, Business Planning and Analysis (BP&A) is accountable for supporting lead market team analysts with planning and forecasting functions of the Allstate Canada Group.

The Associate Business Planning & Analysis will engage in learning the financial insurance flows and how the operations of the key areas impact the operating results.

The incumbent will offer support to the various business areas in the organization and will develop financial reports to drive alerts on key variances.


Accountabilities:


  • Produce & analyze variance reports/dashboards pertaining to premium and losses and able to cross reconcile data to other reports.
  • Work with team members to ensure data is complete and makes sense relative to expectations from key indicators.
  • Support analysts in preparing presentation slides for market teams and leadership team.
  • Assists team to identify material variances to teams (dept and market) requiring attention/investigation.
  • Learn and understand the basics of the premium and loss flows in property and casualty (P&C) insurance setting including understanding of key financial insurance terms.
  • Become familiar with the process of existing planning/forecasting models and how they work as well as create templates and reports from the planning software.
  • Prepare ad hoc reports for various stakeholders as needed.

Qualifications:


  • University graduate in finance and/or business/commerce pursuing or with ambition to pursue accounting designation or equivalent.
  • Relevant work experience including coop would be considered an asset.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel is required.
  • Model building with VBA and macros would be considered an asset.
  • Understanding of financial statements principles.
