Princess Gardens is looking for
Medication Technicians (overnights) to join our highly skilled health care team. As a Medication Technician (MT), you will positively influence and impact the lives of our residents in their activities of daily living. You will assist in providing safe medication administration, personal care services and maintaining a safe environment for residents, visitors, and staff members at all times.


Responsibilities include:


  • Safe, accurate administration of medications to residents and the completion of the required documentation surrounding medications
  • Assisting the Registered Staff in daily monitoring of residents' general health condition
  • Assisting Personal Support Workers and Registered Staff in the provision of intimate care related services.
  • Promoting and contributing to a positive teamworkoriented environment
  • Communicating with residents, families, and visitors with professionalism and positivity, reflecting the mission and values of The Gardens of Peterborough at all times

Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required. Nursing education, PSW Certificate, or the equivalent is an asset.
  • Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills and be a team player
  • Prior experience working with older adults in a Retirement, Long-Term care or Home Care environment is preferred
  • Prior experience in administering medications to adults in a Retirement, group home or Home Care environment is an asset
  • Must be able to complete the required medication delivery training and maintain competency therein
  • Must be available to work varied shifts, including alternating weekends and holidays
