About Us:
The Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS) is a large, diverse, and comprehensive unit, comprised of six Schools (Nursing, Kinesiology, Health Studies, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Communication Sciences and Disorders), a large Interdisciplinary Graduate Program in Health and Rehabilitation Sciences and four Research Centres.
The Arthur Labatt Family School of Nursing will educate nurses who are reflective practitioners and provide recognized leadership in nursing theory, research, practice, inter-professional health teaching and learning, and policy advancements.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities
Facilitate the organization and maintenance of databases and spreadsheets as well as operationalize and develop new research opportunities as requested.
Education:
BSCN/MN in Nursing or Social Science discipline (psychology, sociology, anthropology, public health, health studies, women and gender studies, equity studies or related discipline)
Experience:
3 years' experience conducting research related to applied health research, social determinants of health, health, health equity or closely related areas of study; preferably in an academic setting
3 years' experience authoring reports, proposals, academic papers
Previous experience in all stages of qualitative and quantitative research
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Demonstrated knowledge of research principles, theory and methods (qualitative approaches)
Demonstrated knowledge of quantitative methodological approach and study design
Superior writing skills and knowledge of the publication process with demonstrated expertise leading and contributing to peer-review publications
Advanced level skill in qualitative and quantitative data analysis
Well-organized and flexible with the ability to work in a fluid and evolving work environment with changing deadlines and priorities and able to meet deadlines
Solid judgement and ethical conduct including the ability to maintain confidentiality, tact, and discretion
Ability to work independently as well as cooperatively and collaboratively in a team environment
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to develop effective, professional, mutually beneficially relationships with varied stakeholders (e.g. academics, students, service providers, policy makers
