As a valued member of our team you will provide social work services for residents and families within legislative and budgetary parameters.

This position is for our Extendicare Peterborough Home, located in Peterborough, Ontario

What you'll be doing

  • Provides counseling or group sessions for residents and families, while evaluating program effectiveness.
  • Maintains all required records, reports, statistics, etc. for both residents and department in accordance with policies, procedures, and legislative requirements.
  • Participates on committees related to resident care and operation of the Home as required. Establishes and maintains communications with other disciplines, residents, and families, to ensure resident needs are being met.
  • Liaises with government officials, Extendicare consultants, and other professionals in relation to resident care needs and department activities.
What you bring

  • Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited University.
  • Previous experience in a longterm care setting preferred.
  • Competency in conducting individual counseling and group sessions.
