Green Works Contracting is a multi-service landscaping and design company in the nation's capital focused on providing quality landscaping and friendly, hands-on service and Ottawa's largest sod installers.

We are currently seeking _
Landscape/Sod Labourers and Leaders _
to join our amazing team

Notes:

Pay is based on experience and position.

REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to commute to office and shop near Stevenage & Hawthorne and work from 6:30AM to 6:30PM.
Have at least +2 years of experience working in residential/commercial landscapes.
G Licence and clean drivers abstract and trailer experience.
Ability to operate excavators, skid steer and loaders preferred.
Knowledge of landscape construction practices, such as grading, drainage, soil work, soil structure, planting large trees, and installing sod.
Knowledge of landscape maintenance including, trees, shrubs, plants, lawns and hardscapes.
Knowledge of tools used in landscape projects (trimmers, edgers, cultivator, string trimmers, leaf blower, power broom, etc) and how to use them effectively.
Able to read, layout materials and work from landscape design plans.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions etc Preferred.
Ability to lift heavy objects such as heavy plants, heavy equipment etc (+60lb) and move objects of similar weight using a hand truck or pallet jack.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Gather and prep all materials, tools and equipment for the days project.
Follow daily instruction from the department manager and remain a team player from start to finish.
Ensure that work orders are completed in a timely manner.
Perform maintenance on landscape installations, including: pruning, planting, watering, etc.
Soil work: including moving materials in an efficient manner, grading and prepping areas for plants and sod.
Other landscape duties as required.
Communicate with on site clients.

Pay:
$20.00-$24.00 per hour

Expected hours:
per week

French not required

Schedule:

10 hour shift
12 hour shift
Monday to Friday

Experience:

20' trailer hauling: 1 year (preferred)

- skid steer operating: 1 year (preferred)
- sod installation: 1 year (preferred)
- interlock installation: 1 year (preferred)
- landscape maintenance: 1 year (preferred)
