Your Key Responsibilities

  • Aid in financial planning, budgeting, and expense control activities
  • Analyze financial transactions and accounts to determine accuracy and completeness of entries
  • Process retail and wholesale deals
  • Oversee or perform tasks to ensure that financial functions are reconciled monthly including (but not limited to): cash, accounts receivables, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accounts payables, manufacturer statements, vehicle deal commissioning, intercompany accounts
  • Develop an indepth working knowledge of all operational and accounting computer software/equipment systems that impact the accounting and financial reporting processes
  • Research and respond to accounting inquiries from various personnel. Communicate findings in a clear and concise manner alongside the Controller
  • Meet all monthly, quarterly, and annual deadlines as required by the Controller and the GM including monthly reconciliations, monthly and quarterly reporting, financial analysis, yearend reporting, etc.
  • Other special projects, reports, tasks, and financial assessments as assigned by the Controller
  • Assist with the accounting of inventory categories and cleaning of schedules
  • Coach, mentor, lead, and train accounting staff at the dealership
  • Other duties as assigned

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Completion of postsecondary education in accounting or a related field
  • CPA designation or working towards your designation would be considered an asset
  • A minimum of 2 years or more of relevant work experience would be considered an asset
  • Experience working in a dealership / automotive environment would be considered an asset
  • A welldefined sense of diplomacy, including negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent verbal/written communication combined with the ability to interact and gain the support of senior leadership and other key decision makers
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, and ability to multitask
  • Ability to manage priorities, perform a variety of tasks and meet required deadlines and targets
  • Resultsdriven, career focused individual with an entrepreneurial spirit and a strong desire to be successful
  • Detail oriented, selfmotivated, and resourceful
  • Excellent skills in Word and Excel. Highly skilled in standard office software (MS Office, SharePoint, etc.)
  • Strong Knowledge of CDK dealership computer systems would be considered an asset
  • Experience managing large volume sales accounts would be considered an asset
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and a safe driving history
