Buyer and Materials Control Coordinator (BMCC)
We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented individual to be responsible for purchasing quality products for our business in a timely and effective manner and coordinating the flow of in-house produced parts.
Your responsibilities will include processing purchase orders, negotiating with suppliers, tracking orders, creating and maintaining an inventory, generating work orders for parts production, entering production and liaising with production staff and management to ensure all needs are met.
The BMCC will work with staff across departments to forecast the needs of the business and make purchase decisions based on the production schedule.
Buyer Responsibilities:
Specific duties of the BMCC are as follows:
- Research, select and purchase quality products and materials
- Build relationships with suppliers and negotiate with them for the best pricing
- Process purchase orders and update management on status of orders
- Update inventory and ensure that stock levels are kept at appropriate levels
- Schedule and verify purchase deliveries
- Coordinate with production staff, management, and stockroom as required to ensure adequate stock is available in a timely manner
- Maintain the supplier database, accurate transaction records and related documents.
- Support the company's annual inventory count
- Develop improved purchasing strategies to reduce cost, improve inventory turnover and effectively utilize available storage space
- Generate production work orders for parts manufacturing and track progress, enter competed work orders
- Assist Management with implementation and management of the MRP system
- Ensure product Bills or Materials are accurately maintained and updated as requried
- Other duties as may be assigned
Required Experience and Education:
Bachelor's Degree in relevant field - preferred
Relevant experience preferred.
Excellent computer skills (Excel, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint).
Proficient in appropriate software.
Critical thinking and negotiation skills.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Salary:
$41,565.72-$86,936.11 per year
