Operational Line Lead

  • Production


Reporting to the Production Manager, the Operational Line Leader will have line focus providing continuity of direction setting and expectation across all shifts.

This focus allows for deeper understanding of results and causes. The incumbent will work very closely with Production Supervisors, Quality and the Maintenance Department.

The Operational Line Lead has 24 hour, multiple shift accountability for the business results and capability of the production line organization.

Main responsibilities and tasks

  • Supports safety initiatives (i.e. safety observation program)
  • Specialist for the department providing technical support
  • Responsible for continuous improvement with 24/7 accountability of results and capability
  • Develops 90day plan with LST to reduce losses and improve efficiency
  • Owns Department SOPs and Job Instructions
  • Creation and management of standards and standardized work
  • Coaches teams on Centerline execution and problem solving skills
  • Coordinates training and development of team
  • Autonomous and able to develop own plan and priorities
  • Monitoring and maintaining critical parts inventory
  • Owns incident RCA and supports countermeasure execution
  • Works toward achievement of KPIs

Requirements:


  • Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing industry experience
  • Proficient in excel and other Microsoft programs
  • Demonstrates strong leadership and coaching skills in a Team environment
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and manufacturing industry experience, an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
  • Thorough and well organized
