About the role
We're looking for a Unit Claims Manager, Accident Benefits MIG to join our growing team

As a MIG Unit Claims Manager located in the
Mississauga, Ontario office, you will have a big impact on the successful management of its operations.

This role would be ideal for someone looking to progress their leadership career within Accident Benefits.

What you'll do here:

Participate in the development and implementation of business plans and manage operations to achieve key business goals
Provide effective leadership, motivate staff and be responsible for hiring and delivering employee performance feedback
Provide coaching on technical and professional skills for your team and facilitate continuous learning by building robust development plans for your employees
Develop, recommend and implement management and/or organizational initiatives to support company strategies including changes to organizational structure and process/technology improvements
Act in a consultative and advisory capacity on claims matters such as: policy interpretation and settlement negotiation to help resolve claimsrelated issues
Liaise with other claims experts on technical and administrative issues
Maintain a respectful and productive business relationship with vendors, service providers, legal firms and internal client groups

What you bring to the table:

Minimum 5 years' work experience in claims handling or prior management experience
Proven leadership skills and experience in coaching and developing staff
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with all levels of staff
Excellent customer service skills
Knowledge of provincial legislation governing auto insurance
College diploma or university degree is preferred
Bilingual English and French is considered an asset
Completed or are working toward a Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation
