Why this role is important?

Job Overview:


Reporting to the Director, Specialty Programs, the Account Manager, Patient Support Programs will be responsible for the successful execution of Patient Support Program services through program partner banners.

This role will work collaboratively with subcontracted pharmacies, clinics and laboratory service vendors to ensure every patient experience exceeds expectations, services are performed compliantly and that all contractual obligations are met.


What you will do:

The primary focus of the Account Manager will be:

  • Establish, foster and maintain collaborative relationships and negotiate contracts with management of subcontractor pharmacies, clinics and laboratory service vendors that support specific Patient Support Programs.
  • Facilitate development of operational processes for the PSP and subcontracted pharmacies, clinics and laboratory service vendors to ensure a consistent patient experience.
  • Onboard and train new subcontract banners and oversee profile updates and training records.
  • Lead regular operational meetings with subcontract banners.
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external parties to complete root cause analysis and build action plans to improve Program Performance.
  • Prepare for and lead quarterly business meetings with subcontract banners in collaboration with internal teams.
  • Develop and execute quality, performance, financial and customer service audits of subcontract banners.
  • Develop in collaboration with business insights team and present internal and external dashboards for executive audiences.
  • Develop and execute additional program services in collaboration with manufacturer.
  • Ensure that all activities and interactions are conducted with due regard to all applicable provincial and national regulations, guidelines, codes of conduct, company policies and accepted standards of best practice.
  • Manage a program coordinator who will support with administrative aspects of the account management process.

What you will need:


  • Minimum of five (35) years of combined pharma industry, biotechnology, patient support program, pharmacy, nursing or equivalent experience
  • University undergraduate degree in pharmacy, nursing or health sciences is preferred
  • Bilingual preferred
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to influence and build constructive partnerships
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership qualities
  • Strong problemsolving skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • High energy with positive attitude
  • Flexible and adaptable to changes of responsibility reflective of the business need
  • Proven ability to build strong B2B relationships.
  • Proven ability to work independently with excellent selfleadership.
  • Demonstrates ability to function with mínimal supervision and a high degree of initiative.
  • Demonstrates in depth clinical and regulatory knowledge and ability to understand and integrate complex data concepts.
  • Strong understanding of retail and specialty pharmacy landscape and key environmental factors impacting the industry.
  • Proficient with Pharmacy software systems and MS Office Applications
  • Possess superior communication skills (written, verbal, presentation and facilitation skills).
  • Immunology experience an asset
  • Understanding of Pharmacy and/or Nursing Scope of Practice nationally.
