You will report to the

Shop Manager:
, and under their guidance, you will:

  • Assist Motion staff with problem-solving, product selection, sizing, sourcing, and costing.
  • Quote development, carry out bid review, and obtain costing.
  • Contact person for the Motion branch to provide product and technical support.
  • Make joint customer calls with Motion technical service representatives when requested.
  • Prepare equipment rebuild & product inspection reports.
  • Coordinate and oversee projects.

Requirements:


  • Mechanical Engineering principles and practices.
  • Fluid power principles & practices
  • Broad understanding of hydraulic cylinders, motors, pumps & valves.
  • General shop experience, machining & welding.
  • PC skills, MS Office
  • Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specification
  • Able to produce/alter drawings using Autodesk products

Skills and Abilities:


  • Superior analytical ability
  • Able to work independently and as a team player
  • Excellent and practical communication skills, including clearly written technical reports that meet customer expectations
  • Time management skills to manage all department projects to tight deadlines
  • Able to make knowledgeable decisions with confidence

Training/Education:


  • Mechanical Engineering Technologist, Journeyman Millwright, Journeyman machinist or equivalent experience.
  • Safe work practices.
