CAREER OPPORTUNITY:
Buyer

Location:
Mississauga, Ontario

  • Negotiate, Purchasing new products and checking the quality and customer popularity of those already in store;
  • Negotiating terms of contracts with supplies including discounts and transportation arrangements;
  • Monitoring and maintaining adequate stock levels
  • Deliver against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure success based on service level and SKU Performance
  • Monitor and take appropriate action on vendor performance with respect to order fill and on time delivery
  • Identify and communicate opportunities with vendors, Category Management, Merchandising, Replenishment and Logistics on areas for improvement

Job Qualifications:


  • An Undergraduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience or a DEC
  • 24 years of experience as a buyer in a related industry (relevant purchasing and marketing experiencepreferably in a produce, food processing or distribution/logistics environment).
  • Extensive knowledge of Excel (intermediate)
  • Grocery buying experience (required)
  • Able to effectively negotiate and influence business decisions and change.
  • Have strong analytical, planning and execution skills
