The opportunity:


The primary responsibilities of this position include independently creating, updating, maintaining and administrating Clinician work schedules for all FTE and Locum Clinicians employed with Ongomiizwin Health Services.

This will involve being proficient in their use of QGenda, and Concur.


The incumbent is independent in their responsibility of handling inquiries from internal and external partners and Clinicians about the function and schedules of assigned communities.

The incumbent independently establishes priorities, and creates or updates Clinician schedules accordingly.


Under the direction of the Medical Director and Medical Advisor, the incumbent matches Clinician skills and availability with the OHS funding level and service commitments assigned to each individual Northern community.


The incumbent provides administrative support to Administration and Clinicians contracted by Ongomiizwin Health Services who live in various communities and travel for the purpose of providing healthcare services to Northern and remote communities.


The incumbent is independent in their responsibility for relaying pertinent information to the management team including Medical Advisor, Medical Director, and Chiefs of Staff.


The incumbent is independent in their responsibility for preparing, updating, maintaining and administrating accurate Clinician schedules for designated program areas while keeping within the funding levels and service commitments assigned to each community.

This shall include but is not limited to preparing, updating and maintaining Clinician work and call schedules, coordinating corresponding travel, transportation and accommodations for Clinicians, who are travelling to various Northern/remote communities.


The qualifications and experience we're looking for:

  • Completion of a formal training program in a related discipline from a recognized institute plus four years of directly related experience.
  • An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Four years of directly related secretarial and administrative experience in a healthcare setting is required.
  • Knowledge of University regulations, programs and procedures, especially as they relate to the Section of First Nations, Métis and Inuit is essential.
  • Experience working in a First Nations, Métis and/or Inuit Healthcare setting is essential
  • Experience working with Clinicians is required.
  • Experience coordinating schedules and booking travel, transportation and accommodations is required.
  • Experience creating and coordinating multiple schedules is required.
  • Advanced skills in MS Office software programs, is required.
  • Experience using Concur or other travel booking systems is required.
  • Experience using QGenda or other scheduling systems is required.
  • Knowledge of the Northern Manitoba and Indigenous culture required.
