Description

Norwood Sawmills, a leading manufacturer of portable sawmills and related forestry equipment, is seeking a Material Handler - Order Fulfillment to join our team.

The Material Handler will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating a forklift to move materials, products, and equipment throughout the warehouse while also assisting in order fulfillment tasks.

Responsibilities:

Forklift Operations

Safely operate a forklift to transport materials and products within the warehouse.
Load and unload trucks, containers, and shelves using the forklift.
Inspect and maintain the forklift to ensure it is in proper working condition.
Adhere to safety guidelines and best practices to prevent accidents and injuries.

Order Fulfillment

Pick and pack products according to order specifications, ensuring items are correctly labeled and packaged.
Efficiently package Customer and Dealer orders to protect them from damage during transportation.
Organize and stage completed orders for shipping or delivery, maintaining order and cleanliness in the staging area.
Look for new ways to improve efficiency, packaging quality, inspections/qualitycontrol, preservation of part quality and improve safety, and communicate to superiors your suggestions.
Complete necessary paperwork, such as shipping labels, packing slips, and order documentation.
Interact fellow Norwood team members, customers, and suppliers in a positive, constructive, courteous, timely and professional manner.
Perform such other duties that may be assigned as required.

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid forklift operator certification.
Valid Reach Truck certification, an assist.
Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
Excellent communication skills.
Proven experience operating a forklift in a warehouse or manufacturing setting.
Strong understanding of warehouse operations and order fulfillment processes.
Attention to detail and accuracy in order picking, packing, and documentation.
Basic computer skills to navigate warehouse management systems and related software.
