Description

Norwood Sawmills, a leading manufacturer of portable sawmills and related forestry equipment, is seeking a Material Handler - Order Fulfillment to join our team.

The Material Handler will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating a forklift to move materials, products, and equipment throughout the warehouse while also assisting in order fulfillment tasks.

Responsibilities:


Forklift Operations

  • Safely operate a forklift to transport materials and products within the warehouse.
  • Load and unload trucks, containers, and shelves using the forklift.
  • Inspect and maintain the forklift to ensure it is in proper working condition.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and best practices to prevent accidents and injuries.

Order Fulfillment

  • Pick and pack products according to order specifications, ensuring items are correctly labeled and packaged.
  • Efficiently package Customer and Dealer orders to protect them from damage during transportation.
  • Organize and stage completed orders for shipping or delivery, maintaining order and cleanliness in the staging area.
  • Look for new ways to improve efficiency, packaging quality, inspections/qualitycontrol, preservation of part quality and improve safety, and communicate to superiors your suggestions.
  • Complete necessary paperwork, such as shipping labels, packing slips, and order documentation.
  • Interact fellow Norwood team members, customers, and suppliers in a positive, constructive, courteous, timely and professional manner.
  • Perform such other duties that may be assigned as required.

Requirements:


  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid forklift operator certification.
  • Valid Reach Truck certification, an assist.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proven experience operating a forklift in a warehouse or manufacturing setting.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse operations and order fulfillment processes.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in order picking, packing, and documentation.
  • Basic computer skills to navigate warehouse management systems and related software.
