Factor Gas Liquids Inc. is currently looking for an NGL Scheduler to join our growing team.

Job summary:


Reporting to the Manager, Logistics, you will work closely with a team of Schedulers in coordinating the logístical affairs of the organization and ultimately the safe, timely and complete delivery of product.

The function works within the sales/marketing group in planning and optimizing product movements to maximize profitability.

Key Responsibilities:


Optimizing and facilitating the monthly shipment plan to meet supply/demand criteria

  • Nominations: Rail, Inventory Transfers and Truck
  • Providing orders to all suppliers, ensure accurate routing, customs, product and ship to information
  • Prioritizing shipments at multiple supply points to meet customer needs
  • Managing inmonth supplier and customer performance
  • Creating and maintaining positive customer and supplier relationships
  • Reconciling shipments to ensure both supplier and customers are balanced and match throughout the month
  • Provide a constant flow of communication to the trading group as it pertains to commercial positions and situations that may impact the market

Railcar Management:


  • Track, trace and monitor rail car movements using Geometrix and railroad websites. Create cases with the railroads to manage dwell times to ensure product gets to customers and loading facilities timely
  • Identify and advise manager of fleet shortages or length within fleets at any given facility. Strategize within the team on how to manage around any issues to meet Factors needs.
  • Understand railroad tariffs and how to move fleet without incurring unnecessary diversion costs and minimizing empty miles.
  • Optimizing the fleet to ensure rail cars arrive as required and meet each supply point's needs.

Logistics Administrative Duties:

Create and update the shipping plan, bol entry, sales/purchases and transportation agreements, routing and posting for accounting

Customer detention verification and approvals for invoicing

Collect necessary information to properly dispute/approve logistics invoice(s)


Represent Factor

  • Communicate and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain and monitor Factor's relationships with transportation service providers within the rail, truck, terminal, and pipeline industry.
  • Attend social and industry functions on behalf of Factor to gain industry knowledge and strengthen relationships.

Key relationships:


Marketers - Constant communication with the marketing team, to ensure customer/supplier agreements are met, opportunities identified, and problems proactively managed.

Customers - logistics or other contacts regarding transportation, storage issues or other related matters.


Suppliers - logistics, rail companies, trucking companies or other contacts regarding transportation, scheduling or storage issues or other related matters.

This group also includes service providers of systems, reporting or other mechanisms related to tank car or other transportation management.

Accounting staff - Sharing of information with the back office to ensure timely invoicing.


What you bring:


  • 35 years of relevant NGL Scheduler experience
  • Possess strong technical industry knowledge to ensure all matters within the Factor's control are addressed and that process meets legal and regulatory guidelines and direction.
  • Excellent planning, analytical, problem solving, and time management skills.
  • Demonstrate good verbal and written communications as well as ability to work closely with other departments in addressing matters in a comprehensive basis.
  • Assume responsibility for accuracy and timeliness of work product.
  • Experience with Entero and GeoMetrix is an asset
  • Knowledge of various Canadian and U.S. regulations relative to the transportation of dangerous goods/hazardous materials
  • Proven ability to work independently, while recommending solutions and improvements to processes
  • Intermediate to advance MS Excel skills
  • Energetic, resilient, selfmotivated and goal oriented
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize to deliver on tight deadlines.

Compensation:

Factor offers a competitive total compensation package that includes a base salary and eligibility for a performance-based bonus.
