Responsibilities:

Provide day to day technical support in all areas and methods in the field of NDE.
Provide project wide support regarding NDE in Mexico projects.
Work with NDE governance team to ensure Company specifications, procedures and standards meet the needs of the business unit;
Develop and write the NDT procedures for the projects.
Review and approval of suppliers and their NDT procedures utilized on projects;
Collaborate with supply chain management, project and external vendors/contractors to maintain project schedule and qualify new NDE vendors where needed;
Provide internal training to field visual welding inspectors in relation to NDE and the methods commonly employed by TC Energy;
Oversee all nondestructive evaluation work from approved vendors and perform field assessments as deemed necessary;
Provide technical expertise and information in response to Regulatory requests;

Minimum Qualifications:

NDT Level 3 ISO 9712 Registered certification in 6 methods at least, such as: Visual testing (VT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT), Radiographic testing (RT), Ultrasonic testing (UT) and Leak Testing (LT), in accordance with American Society Nondestructive Testing (ASNT) and/or ISO 971
Knowledge and experience in advanced ultrasonic testing methods such as Manual Phased Array ultrasonic testing and/or automated ultrasonic testing;
Minimum of (20) years of progressive NDE field experience related to the construction and/or maintenance of oil and gas transmission systems;
Knowledge of Regulations, Codes and applicable Standards (e.g. CSA, ASME, API) for pipeline and associated facility construction in Canada, USA and Mexico;
Excellent written and oral communication skills, with a strong attention to detail;
Adaptability in a fastpaced environment with competing priorities and challenges;
Ability to proactively engage and work with team members and stakeholders towards positive outcomes.

Preferred Qualifications:

Registered or eligible to be registered as a Professional Technologist (P.Tech) with the Association of Science & Engineering Technology Professionals of Alberta (ASET);
Technical background in advanced nondestructive techniques such as crack tip diffraction and Time of flight diffraction (TOFD) and Phase Array Utrasonic Testing (PAUT), with experience in development of UT procedures.
Experience with mechanized welding systems used for mainline welding and fabrication welding;
Experience with industry welding standards, i.e. ASME IX, API 1104;
Excellent analytical and decisionmaking skills;
Have and maintain a valid driver's license;
Provide a driver's abstract for review;
Must have the ability and be willing to travel to supplier's locations in North America;
Be available for extended work hours outside of standard business hours, and callouts as needed;
Travel to construction sites regularly, which would involve significant (up to 80%) overnight stays away from home.
