Job description

We are looking for dynamic consultants to grow our Life Sciences team in Toronto. Your experience, knowledge, and commitment will help us to face our client's challenges.

You will be supporting different projects through your expertise as Imaging Scientist.

Your main responsibilities:

Implement or modify existing algorithms to analyze histopathology images and data
Develop software in both prototyping and commercial product development environments
Collaborate with other members of the project team to meet scientific and technical goals
Engage in a multidisciplinary environment with internal and external stakeholders, such as pathologists, biochemists, instrumentation engineers, software engineers, and marketing representatives
Stay up-to-date with technology advances and job training requirements in the medical device industry
Present results to project partners, collaboration partners within the Roche group, customers, and at scientific conferences
Perform other duties assigned by management to support the operational goals of the group
Manage day-to-day aspects of Agile framework ceremonies (Backlog Grooming, Sprint Planning, Sprint Review, Retrospective, and Daily Stand-Ups)
Facilitate effective collaboration, decision-making, issue resolution, and consensus among the team members and dependent teams
Handle project timelines, scope, budget, issues, and risks according to defined process, in collaboration with the Project Manager
Support the Product Owner in maintaining the Product Backlog and completing the delivery plan
Empower the team to self-organize
Coach team to use SCRUM effectively and ensures team motivation is always high

Qualifications:

Two years of experience with a Master's Degree in Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
Hands-on experience with algorithm development for image or data analysis
Experience in designing and developing analysis algorithms for biomedical image data
Product development experience with a focus on data analysis preferred
Experience working with Digital Pathology tools or Software is a plus
Experience working with Medical devices is a plus
Coding experience in Python (polyglot in multiple programming languages, e.g., Matlab, C++, is a plus)
Extensive experience with commonly used Deep Learning models and frameworks (e.g., Pytorch, Fastai, TensorFlow)
