Destination Canada is looking for a
Marketing Coordinator to join our team in Vancouver as we inspire travellers to explore Canada.


Under the direction of the Marketing Manager, International (the "Manager"), the individual will contribute to and support the development and execution of multi-channel international marketing with a focus on trade programs.

As such, they will also take direction from the Global Travel Trade Manager and work closely with all of the in-market teams including Trade Managers.

As a member of the International Squad, the role will also support the Marketing Specialist and Content Specialist with specific projects as required.

You are the Global Marketing team's main resource for updating and maintaining our global trade platforms and websites.

You are organized, efficient, attentive to details, and can work in a fast-paced environment that balances ongoing projects with daily tasks.

You are proficient with website CMS systems and have some experience building landing pages. You also know how to select good photos and are passionate about creating appealing, functional pages and websites. You also feel comfortable with simple copy editing and are interested in creative work.

DUTIES:
  • Assists in planning, developing and distributing content and marketing supports for international trade campaigns including the Canada Specialist agent training program
  • Manages project timelines and workflows under strict deliverable schedules between multiple internal and external clients and suppliers, to include the delivery of strategic market plans
  • Supports inmarkets teams with the development of content toolkits and ensures access to DC assets for tour operators within the Brand Canada Library.
  • Coordinates with the Content Specialist on ideas or logistics, share sourced content, and updates, etc. for global markets
  • Supports in managing relationships with agency partners (both creative and paid) to execute tactical elements of the marketing program in relation to international marketing and trade activations
  • Monthly calls with inmarket international teams (including preparation/report).
  • Continually seeks out new and emerging opportunities for trade content distribution and program enhancements.

Essential Qualifications

EDUCATION:

University degree in Marketing, Communications, Tourism or another field directly related to the position, or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience.


  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in marketing
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders including but not limited to agencies
  • Experience in supporting the maintenance of websites and content
  • Experience in the tourism industry is an asset

KNOWLEDGE:


  • Strong knowledge of marketing and communication channels
  • Knowledge of the tourism commercial sector, including international trends
  • Knowledge of website publishing, and website functionality
  • Knowledge of project management and planning including financial and administrative management
  • Knowledge of various software packages including MS Office Suite (i

e:
Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and Content Management Systems (Wordpress, Drupal)

  • Knowledge of agency models for marketing, branding, strategy, design, media buying and performance measurement
  • Knowledge of the latest marketing and technology trends an asset
  • Knowledge of the travel industry in global markets is an asset
