The IDPS Release Train Engineer (RTE) is a portfolio level program manager/Agile delivery manager who is accountable for the overall coordination, execution, and delivery of value for the agile release train (ART) while ensuring alignment with company strategy, commitments, and goals.


Experience:


  • 3+ plus years' experience as RTE, 4+ years as team level dev lead/manager, scrum master, product owner or product manager with 10+ years of IT experience
  • Experience launching ARTs and facilitating SAFe ceremonies.
  • Experience working with geographically distributed teams while helping organizations deliver large, complex solutions.

  • Advocate for modern agile software development Comfortable with raising issues and inspiring change while dealing with situations of conflict, ambiguity, and uncertainty.
  • Ability to work in fast pace environment while maintaining strategic direction and willing to get down in the details to make things happen
  • Proficient in JIRA, Rally and/or Version One tools Committed to continuous learning and able to demonstrate a pattern of personal development in agility.
  • Knowledge of data projects a plus

Responsibilities:


  • Manage and optimize the flow of value through the ART using various tools Establish and communicate the annual calendars for Iterations and Program Increments (PI) Coordinate and facilitate all ART ceremonies (PI Planning, ART Sync, SoS, PO Sync, System Demos, etc.)
  • Summarize team PI Objectives into Program PI Objectives and publish them for visibility and transparency Manage risks and dependencies and removal of ART impediments Provide input on resourcing to address critical bottlenecks.
  • Assist with economic decisionmaking by facilitating feature and capability estimation by teams and the rollup to Epics, where necessary Encourage collaboration between teams and system architects/engineering; work with product management, solution management, product owners, and other stakeholders to ensure strategy and execution alignment Improve the flow of value through value streams by improving and assessing the practices associated with DevOps and release on demand in the continuous delivery pipeline Understand and operate within Lean Budgets and ensure adherence to guardrails Drive relentless improvement via inspect and adapt workshops and ART metrics
  • Assess the agility level of the ART and coach the ART in Lean-Agile practices.
  • Foster communities of practices and the use of engineering and builtin quality practices.
  • Advocate for adopting lean agile practices and SAFe across the organization supporting the Lean Agile Center of Excellence (LACE)
  • Support ART launch and agile transformations Collaborates with system engineer and product architect in driving the architectural runway and assisting with prioritization of architectural runway within the product backlog.
  • Help drive the Lean User Experience (UX) innovation cycle.
  • Work with the Agile Program Management Office (APMO) on program execution and operational excellence

Education:


  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience; (In lieu of degree, 10 years of IT experience with 5+ years of agile coaching and working in the Scaled Agile Framework environment (SAFe)
  • Certifications: SAFe certification RTE, SM, Consultant (required) SAFe Program Consultant (SPC) certification (desired) Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Certified Scrum Profession (CSP) (required)
