  • Supporting REPO business for in house originations and for other clients including some of the Big 5 banks and other financial institutions.
  • Preparing and monitoring various reconciliations which includes:
  • Maintaining reconciliations for all inflows and outflows for REPO line of business.
  • Ensuring client account reconciliations are accurate and complete.
  • Ensuring unreconciled items are tracked and resolved in a timely manner.
  • Maintaining orderly and easy to follow reconciliation documentation for third party review and audit purposes.
  • Coordinating with operations and collections teams on regular basis.
  • Proposing journal entries to correct any discrepancies identified during reconciliation process.
  • Reconciliation and analysis of customer clearing accounts.
  • Coordinate with operations team and make sure customer overpayment refunds are being processed in a timely manner.
  • Reconciliation of key balance sheet and income statement accounts for the above.
  • Daily and weekly settlement of funds for repo business and processing incoming and outgoing wire transfer payments.
  • Preparation of journal entries and supporting schedules for repossessions, redemptions, insurance, warranties, and any other accounting as required.
  • Evaluating current processes and systems with the purpose of identifying gaps or creating efficiencies and process improvements.
  • Assisting with compilation of monthly securitization reports for the funders.
  • Proactively identify and address the root cause of issues encountered during performance of tasks / analytical reviews.
  • Supporting annual audit and funder site audits by preparing and maintaining schedules.
  • Preparation of adhoc reporting as requested.
  • Other projects, duties, and tasks as assigned from time to time.

What you bring

  • 3+ years relevant work experience preferably in financial services field
  • Postsecondary education with a specialization in Finance or Accounting
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience with Sage 300 ERP or similar accounting software is an asset.
  • Strong analytical skills and critical thinking when solving operational issues.
  • Detail oriented, ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to change in a fastpaced environment.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment, selfmotivated and a quick learner.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Additional Information
Currently, this is a hybrid role that will be set-up for in office and remote work. You will be required to work in the office as advised by your manager. This may be adjusted at any time at the discretion of CanCap with reasonable notice.

Location of employment is at 11 Church Street, Toronto, ON, M5E 1M2. All interviews will be conducted virtually using Microsoft Teams.
