Overview:

Objective:

The Shipping Coordinator is responsible for providing support to the Winnipeg Pipe Operation including; dispatch, general assistance to Sales including SAP invoice

reconciliation assistance, PO creation, receiving of invoices for payment and office support


Structure:

Winnipeg Pipe Operation. Work closely with Sales Manager, Sales and Engineering team, Sales Coordinator, Production team and Admin. Assistant.


Responsibilities:


Specific Accountabilities:


  • Process sales orders
  • Process and manage payments to haulers
  • Run reports as required for General Manager and Sales Manager
  • Answer incoming calls
  • General office duties as required
  • Assist with inventory control
  • Dispatch duties including: scheduling deliveries; coordinating loads; manual and SAP ticketing
  • Process PO's and receive goods for consumable or maintenance items
  • Enter returned goods, culls & shipping into inventory management spreadsheet
  • Liaise with Project Managers daily, in regards to product requirement for customer projects and assist in providing scheduled solutions based on customers' needs
  • Manage and solve customer complaints and issues as it relates to shipping & inventory
  • Working with yardstaff (forklift operators) to organize yard in effective manner
  • Coordinate with other Lafarge Pipe operations to balance inventory, formwork and source product
  • Monitor stock of 3rdparty items (gaskets, aluminum steps)
  • Work with hired trucking companies to make sure logistic requirements are met. Deal with issues as they come up (wait time, drivers, tiedown methods)
  • Assist smallvolume (misc) customers with pricing, taking and processing orders
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Education

  • High School diploma required

Experience

  • Proficiency with MS Office
  • Knowledge of concrete pipe and manhole products an asset, but not required
  • Proficiency in SAP an asset, but not required
  • Easily able to deal effectively with customer complaints in a professional manner
  • Excellent telephone manner
  • Able to establish and maintain effective working relations with other staff, truckers and customers
  • Able to work under pressure with fluid deadlines and changing circumstances
  • Selfstarter, willing to do work outside job description as required
  • High level of time management and task prioritization skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication and teamwork/interpersonal skills
