    Purpose of Role: The Journeyman Millwright is responsible for assembly, repair and overhaul of pumps, cyclones, valves and other rotating processing equipment. They will work in our service shop building and repairequipment supplied by Weir for the mining operations. Field service is a mandatory for various mine sites throughout Northern Ontario, which accounts for 15-25% of the time.

    Key Responsibilities:

  • Focus Area: Install and repair mechanical components including piping, guards, coupling, sheaves, and belt drives for rotating equipment.
  • Focus Area: Installation and commissioning of rotating assemblies in the field, including bearing assemblies, grout and alignment.
  • Focus Area: Support clients by problem solving mechanical issues in both a shop and field environment, including performing pneumatic and hydro pressure testing.
  • Focus Area: Disassemble and inspect equipment upon arrival and communicate with engineering, management, and other trades colleagues as neededto help determine a suitable course of repair.
  • Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviorsin support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.
  • Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

  • Licensed Journeyman or Red Seal Millwright (433A)
  • Valid Ontario Driver's License
  • 3+ years of post-apprenticeship experience in assembly, repair and overhaul of pumps and mechanical rotating equipment
  • Previous experience working in a pump or valve shop is preferred but not required.
