Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated Junior IT Technician to join our dynamic IT support team. This entry-level role offers an excellent opportunity to develop technical skills in a professional environment. The successful candidate will assist with troubleshooting, maintaining, and supporting various IT systems and infrastructure, ensuring smooth operation across our organisation. Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues across multiple operating systems including Windows, macOS, and Linux.
- Support computer networking tasks such as LAN configuration, VPN setup, firewall management, and troubleshooting connectivity issues.
- Assist with desktop support activities, including installing, configuring, and maintaining computer hardware and peripherals.
- Maintain documentation of support activities using BMC Remedy or similar ticketing systems.
- Collaborate with senior technicians to resolve complex technical problems efficiently.
- Contribute to the realisation of IT projects by supporting system upgrades and deployments.
- Communicate effectively with users to understand their needs and provide clear guidance on technical issues.
Requirements
- Basic understanding of computer networking concepts such as LAN, VPN, firewall configurations, and operating systems.
- Familiarity with troubleshooting software issues across Windows, macOS, and Linux platforms.
- Prior experience or knowledge of desktop support, hardware components, and software applications including Microsoft Office suite.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical users.
- Experience using help desk tools like ServiceNow or Jira for ticket management.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Demonstrated interest in IT support roles with a willingness to learn new technologies.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal. This role provides an excellent foundation for those looking to advance their career within IT support environments while gaining practical experience in a professional setting.
