Come work as a Nurse Practitioner with Vancouver Coastal Health NURSE PRACTITIONER – VGH LIVER TRANSPLANT The Liver Transplantation Program at the Vancouver General Hospital is a dynamic multidisciplinary team consisting of Physicians Nurse Coordinators Psychologists Pharmacists Addiction Specialists and Dieticians It is one of the most rewarding fields in medicine where the team takes care of patients whose lives are transformed from living with liver failure to living with a new functioning liver The Nurse Practitioner will be an integral part of the team taking care of inpatients who have undergone liver transplantation taking an active part in evaluating patients for liver transplantation and following the patients long term in the outpatient setting To help with transitioning into the role a detailed training plan will be offered As a Nurse Practitioner with VCH you will Be responsible and accountable for the comprehensive assessment of patients and clients including diagnosing diseases disorders and conditions Initiate treatment including health care management therapeutic interventions prescribes medications in accordance with statutory regulatory standards limits conditions employer policies procedures Provide professional guidance to other health professionals participates autonomously as member interdisciplinary health teams Collaborate clients other health professionals identify assess trends patterns implications clients families communities Develop implement population evidence-based strategies improve client community level Participate peer program selfreview evaluate outcome services client community level Responsible own professional development maintaining competence position maintaining privileges active medical staff required Report Operational Director Professional Practice key accountabilities quality assurance patient safety Regional Department Nurse Practitioners
