Plasma Operator

We are a North American Leader in the Fabrication sectors with operations across Canada, and the

USA. We are a fully-integrated supplier of manufacturing and engineering services providing steel

components and complex, high value-added assemblies for the agricultural, construction, mining,

energy, heavy truck and industrial sectors.

The Machine Operator will be responsible for supporting the production team in machine operations,

loading and off-loading product or inventory, conducting quality checks and finishing parts using hand

tools as required.

The Machine Operator will report directly to the Team Lead and/or Production Supervisor.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Understands the use of equipment, sheet loader, and laser conveyor.
  • Reads job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements, and
selects desired cutting program.

  • Observes and monitors machine during process.
  • Conducts ongoing visual inspection of parts before forwarding to next procedure.
  • Measure workpiece dimensions to ensure accuracy.
  • Remove burrs, sharp edges, rust or scale from workpiece, if required.
  • Identify opportunities for improvements.
  • Follow strict quality control procedures.
  • Follow good housekeeping practices.
  • Follows and comply with all Operational Procedures and policies as outlined in the Employee
Handbook, Quality and Environment programs (i.e. IATF, ISO 14001)

  • Any other duties as may be assigned.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) with a minimum of three (3) months
experience.

  • Metal Fabrication experience.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints / shop fabrication drawings.
  • Ability to frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Mathematically inclined.
  • Comfortable to work with large size components.
  • Experience operating overhead crane equipment.
  • Must have the ability to work in a fastpaced environment.
  • Safety focused.

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Evening shift

Supplemental pay types:
