The LDB is one of two branches of government responsible for the cannabis and liquor industry of B.C.

We operate the wholesale distribution of beverage alcohol and non-medical cannabis within the province, as well as the household retail brands of BC Liquor Stores and BC Cannabis Stores.

The LDB has been assigned to distribute, wholesale, and sell non-medicinal cannabis inclusive of a government owned online channel with a mandate to support government's key priorities of protecting children and youth, ensuring health and safety standards, and keeping the criminal element out of the supply chain.

Following legalization, the BCLDB began distribution and wholesale of cannabis, and operating BC Cannabis Stores in a growing number of locations across the province.

Since 2018 the BC Cannabis Stores chain has grown to 38 locations with more growth planned all across the province.

Cannabis operations within the BCLDB includes the Distribution, Merchandising, Retail Operations, Supply Chain, and Marketing departments.


About this role:

Under the direction of the Manager, this position schedules and supervises a large workforce of up to 100 regular, full
- time and auxiliary employees in a 2 shift operation. The Operations Supervisor group is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations and making timely decisions to ensure the efficient management of all Distribution operational areas including: order picking, quality assurance, shipping and receiving, and inventory control of Cannabis product for all Wholesale customers.


This position provides front-line leadership with respect to occupational health & safety, employee labour relations, attendance management and customer service in a manner consistent with the goals and business objectives of the BC Liquor Distribution Branch.

A criminal record check is required.

Work takes place in a non air-conditioned warehouse. Conditions are noisy with conveyors, material handling equipment running and packing area equipment operating. Required to operate various mechanical and hand-operated equipment including forklifts, reach trucks and electric pallet movers.

Incumbents may be required to lift cases up to 50 lbs. and perform other general warehouse duties including frequent bending, standing, pushing, pulling or carrying.

Walking amounts to between 8km - 15km per shift each day, incumbents must be able to stand for duration of shift.

Carrying 4.6Kg consistently throughout the day is expected.


Requires the ability to work rotating shifts and must be willing to travel and work overtime on an occasional basis.

Frequent focus and visual attention on computer screens and printed materials can be expected.


This opportunity is for a mid-shift (approx.

9:00am - 4:30pm) position at the Richmond Distribution Centre.

Position requirements:


Education and Experience:


  • A minimum of 18 months of experience utilizing a Warehouse Management System in a distribution environment with emphasis on functions such as shipping, receiving, assembly, and inventory control.
  • Supervisory experience assigning, monitoring and examining work of assigned employees for accuracy and quality; evaluating work performance and maintaining schedules.
  • Completion of a supervisory course.
