We have an immediate opening for a
Research Technician. This position is available in
Calgary, AB.


How we plan on keeping you busy:

  • Actively contributing to project execution including assay development, validation, data analysis and reporting
  • Assist our scientists in testing hypotheses and pursuing valuable new research in cellbased screening
  • Clean and set up laboratory equipment, monitor inventory and supplies, and ensure overall laboratory cleanliness
  • Record detailed observations and notes pertaining to sample collection and/or any ongoing studies
  • Preparing draft statistical reports and summaries from data collected
  • Routine handling of mammalian cell cultures including stable cell line maintenance, transient transfections, freezing and thawing cells
  • Maintaining cell stocks and freezer inventories
  • Supporting and collaborating with members from various teams to meet project deliverables and timelines
  • Growing your technical skill set and engaging in professional development

What will help you get here:

  • Biology diploma or equivalent
  • Preferred
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in life sciences
  • Preferred
  • Prior handson experience working in a lab environment
  • Experience with bioassays, mammalian cell culture techniques, other molecular and cellular biology techniques
  • Laboratory technician certification or unencumbered licensure
  • Excellent manual dexterity required
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and recordkeeping skills
  • Solid team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written)
  • Excellent documentation and organizational skills
- (Optional, but desired) Experience in flow cytometry, microscopy and/or in vitro assays
