Our Team


We are currently seeking a talented and energetic individual to join our team of Human Resources professionals as a
Human Resources Coordinator to support our
Thompson,
Manitoba Operations.


The Opportunity:


In this role you will support the Human Resources Business Partners and the Human Resources Manager on a variety of administrative components such as HR programs, policies, projects, employment changes, and organizational initiatives.

We are seeking a new team member who has expert analytical and reporting skills and is comfortable managing a wide range of administrative tasks and meeting deadlines.

This is a
permanent opportunity to join our elite team of HR professionals who meet regularly to share learnings, solve HR challenges and "Dig Deep" together to provide exceptional HR service to our clients.

The incumbent will report directly to the Human Resources Manager. Relocation to Thompson is a requirement.

Additionally, in this position you will:

  • Participate in HR team meetings, training, and safety activities.
  • Acts as a focal point for routine and adhoc HR reports, processes, and programs using data from multiple source systems; provide insights on data requirements for key people performance metrics such as Overtime, Absenteeism, Turnover, etc. Manages and interprets data in a way that allows for the identification of key trends and presents the results in a logical manner to enable data driven decisions.
  • Provides data administration for all employee change actions as required using our Vale HRIS system (Peoplesoft)
  • Participates in the development and maintenance of HR policies and procedures; provides interpretation as necessary; makes suggestions and recommendations on any revisions.
  • Process invoices and monitor budget for the Manitoba HR Department
  • Support the development of talent and attraction strategies in the North.
  • Participate in project work pertaining to Collective Agreement Language and assist with other Labour Relations duties as required.
  • Provide critical support for new HR special projects.
  • Identifies opportunities to streamline or automate HR processes to continuously improve service delivery.
  • Exercise good judgment and maintain confidentiality in handling critical and sensitive information, records, and reports.

About you:


Education:


  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Human Resources / Business Administration related focus OR
  • Completion of a relevant postsecondary program in HR Management or equivalent is preferred.

Experience:


  • 25 years of related HR Coordinator/Administrator experience in a clientfocused Human Resources department is preferred however, recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Working knowledge of the MB Employment Standards Act and regulations.

Skills:


  • Brings positive attitude and enthusiasm to the work
  • Expert MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with HRIS, Applicant Tracking and Onboarding Systems; Knowledge of PeopleSoft is an asset.
  • Demonstrates creative problemsolving.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain information in an organized and concise way.
  • Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail, with the ability to meet challenging deadlines.
  • Ability to build and maintain collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Independent delivery with the ability to work in a teamdriven environment.
