    Position Summary:

  • As an active member of an interdisciplinary Surgical clinic team is responsible for the delivery of client-centred nursing services for assigned patients including data collection, nursing assessment, assisting with surgical procedures, patient/family education, support and evaluation
  • Contributes to the development of a realistic discharge plan
  • Participates in program planning, continuous quality improvement and evaluation
  • Key Qualifications:

  • Current medication certification and recent (5-10 years) surgical RPN experience required
  • Current Physical Assessment course is required.
  • Recent 5 years' experience within a general surgical area is required.
  • Current BCLS and evidence of continuing education is required
  • Reliable, flexible, creative, self-directed professional able to work effectively and collaboratively as a member of the interdisciplinary team
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal, organizational and communication skills are required
  • Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position; performing substantial walking, standing, lifting, twisting and bending as required for patient care and other responsibilities
  • Must be willing and able to successfully complete the Hand splinting certification required, following orientation to unit.
