- As an active member of an interdisciplinary Surgical clinic team is responsible for the delivery of client-centred nursing services for assigned patients including data collection, nursing assessment, assisting with surgical procedures, patient/family education, support and evaluation
- Contributes to the development of a realistic discharge plan
- Participates in program planning, continuous quality improvement and evaluation
- Current medication certification and recent (5-10 years) surgical RPN experience required
- Current Physical Assessment course is required.
- Recent 5 years' experience within a general surgical area is required.
- Current BCLS and evidence of continuing education is required
- Reliable, flexible, creative, self-directed professional able to work effectively and collaboratively as a member of the interdisciplinary team
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal, organizational and communication skills are required
- Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position; performing substantial walking, standing, lifting, twisting and bending as required for patient care and other responsibilities
- Must be willing and able to successfully complete the Hand splinting certification required, following orientation to unit.
- Positive attendance and work record essential
