As a Mental Performance Specialist with Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services, you will deliver the mental performance program to members of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF), including but not limited to, student pilots, instructor pilots and air traffic control trainees.
You will provide individual and group performance coaching to enhance and/or sustain their high levels of performance, to help them perform consistently and under considerable stress and adversity.
In addition, you'll assist with other targeted strategies for optimizing metal performance, including the development of online learning, social media and website content and memory aides.
The Mental Performance Specialist plays an integral role in supporting the performance, health and well-being of Canadian Armed Forces members.
In doing so, you will help to ensure that they are mentally and physically ready to sustain the rigours of operations, and live healthy balanced lives.
QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED Education, Certifications and Licenses**Master's degree in Sports Psychology, Kinesiology, Health Studies or a related field
AND some years of experience in Mental Performance coaching
AND
Current Canadian Sports Psychology Association (CPSA) Professional Member
Current CPR and Standard First Aid certification
Experience
In planning, organizing, researching, creating and developing mental training programs
In delivering mental training programs
In planning and conducting mental training courses, workshops, presentations and specialized clinics
In determining the effectiveness and efficiency of delivered mental performance training
In development of reports
In presenting reports and findings
Competencies, Skills and Abilities
Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership.
