    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    The Diagnostic Imaging Clerk is responsible for office and clerical functions including: answering telephones inquiries and relaying accurate messages; acting as a receptionist; booking appointments; reading of x-ray reports to Physicians and their offices; filing of images and related paperwork; signing in and out of images, including tracking/recording the movement of imaging files both internally and externally; distributing x-ray reports; notifying technologists when requisitions are developed; joining x-ray films with previous films; rotation through various clinical areas in the Diagnostic Imaging department and other related duties as assigned.


    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Medical Office Administration Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience;
    • Proven knowledge of medical terminology (tested);
    • Proven keyboarding skills of 30-40 wpm (tested);
    • Proven knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel (tested - basic level);
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills;
    • Proven Meditech experience in admissions, payroll and order entry modules;
    • Proven organizational skills;
    • Demonstrated to have good filing skills;
    • Proven ability to set priorities;
    • Demonstrated ability to work well in a high paced environment with frequent interruptions;
    • Physically capable of performing the work including reaching, bending, lifting and pulling;
    • Meditech, Community Wide Scheduling and PCI, an asset;
    • Knowledge of Diagnostic Imaging Module, an asset;
    • Previous clerical experience working in a Diagnostic Imaging Department,preferred;
    • Must have satisfactory performance record;

    • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff safety, patient safety and environmental safety and participation in regular in-service education sessions in this area; and,
    • Proven good attendance record with capability of maintaining this same standard.

    CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

    The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Hospital and C.U.P.E Local 6364.

    Successful External applicants must provide a satisfactory Criminal Investigation Reference for the vulnerable sector, dated within the past six (6) months.
