Role Responsibilities:


This position is assigned operational and project work that is typically focused on a specific aspect of information technology (IT).

When performing routine operational and project assignments, this position functions independently and focus on providing tier 2-3 support of 700+ Cisco endpoints, 100 Microsoft Teams Rooms (MTR's) and various video collaboration tools.

The environment contains numerous video core servers as well as cloud and web-based conferencing and collaboration technologies (such as Microsoft Teams, Webex and Zoom).


To fulfill service requirements, the VC Cloud and Core Analyst will participate in technical consultation, engagement, and planning activities, however, this position receives mentoring and guidance when dealing with more complex or unusual situations.

This position collaborates with Network and Active Directory Service (ADS)/ Identity and Access Management analysts, Security specialists, as well as all levels of Government to meet ministry client and stakeholders (internal and external) needs.

Responsibilities:
Some of the role responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

  • Providing technical day-to-day operational support of video conferencing services such as analyzing and maintaining GoA video conference (VC) core and edge services and infrastructure, performing software and firmware upgrades, ensuring customer service delivery expectations are met, monitoring system performance and capacity to ensure service levels are maintained, Participating in reviews and evaluation of video based hardware, software, and cloud services, and in the preparation of technology recommendations.
  • Providing consultation to Ministry departments through operational information technology projects or support by evaluating client needs and expectations, consulting on potential VC service deployment, equipment purchases, and upgrades, developing processes, procedures, and reports to standardize service across multiple ministries.

  • Experience working in a fast paced, dynamic environment including meeting deadlines, demonstrating commitment to customer service, working under mínimal supervision, and adhering to workplace standards, procedures, and agreements.
  • Ability to work with multiple business areas across the GOA.
  • Ability to maintain strong relationships with business partners, technology partners, team members, and various stakeholder groups across the GoA.
  • Highly developed client relations, communication, and organizational skills to ensure best practices are met.

Qualifications:


Required:

  • University graduation in a related field such as Computer Sciences, Information Technology.
  • 2 years of progressively responsible related experience in utilizing VCS and Expressway for video communication and IP traversal

This includes:

  • Firewall traversal and nontraversal video calls
  • Creation and configuration of zones and subzones
  • H.323 or thirdparty endpoints
  • SIP Proxy/Registrar
  • Video call and control
  • Bandwidth Management (per call and aggregate)
  • Able to transverse Microsoft and WebEx calls

Equivalencies:

  • A related twoyear diploma in computer technology or a related discipline from a recognized postsecondary institution and four years related experience; or
  • A related oneyear certificate from a recognized postsecondary institution and five years related experience.
