Join our Canadian Engineering Team


Who you are:


Strong technical background with a deep understanding of Identity and Access Management; excellent business insight to be able to drive outcomes and build multi-year strategies.


Responsibilities:


  • Lead a squad of technical professionals within the software development domain.
  • Work closely with the Product Owner and UX within set scope to understand / drive prioritization across business and technical needs.
  • Own and collaborate with various partners to deliver our 3 year technical roadmap.
  • Create, write and groom our Technical product backlog.
  • Lead the squad to deliver on nonfunctional requirements and acquire required approvals on documentation (ie. architecture, risk approvals, support handovers).
  • Handle technical currency and ensure ongoing maintenance of technical and regulatory solutions are met.
  • Consistently strong impact on the success of a team

  • Demonstrates understanding of how technology supports Manulife's strategy.
  • Strong leadership skills for mentoring, developing team members, motivating/engaging a squad.
  • Strong detail orientation and analytical abilities.
  • Awareness of fulltechnology stack (MERN).
  • Solid understanding of interconnections between various business priorities
  • Proven interpersonal skills beyond role requirements and ability to build positive relationships with business partners.
  • Constantly learns from both success and failure.
  • Good organizational and problemsolving abilities that enable you to lead through creative abrasion.
  • Good verbal and written communication; able to successfully articulate technical vision, possibilities, and outcomes Decision Authorities.
  • Excellent change management and problemsolving skills.

Requirement:


  • Experience in leading a diverse software engineering team.
  • Experience with technical architecture/solution design.
  • Solid understanding of IAM and security protocols.
  • Ability to work hand in hand with the architects, engineering managers, IAM teams and business product owners (risk & compliance, marketing, digital, etc.)
  • Experience writing technical stories in IAM that are ready for development.
  • Experience building long term technical strategies for the platform and building and establishing multimonth backlogs of technical stories.
  • Outstanding technical proficiency and ability to drive business outcomes and multiyear technical strategies for the platform.

The annual base salary for this role is listed below.

Salary range is expected to be between
$105,070.00 CAD - $195,130.00 CAD
