Material Purchaser/Project Coordinator
Nor-Tec Group is a full-service electrical contractor. We have been servicing Winnipeg and the far reaches of most of Manitoba for over 35 years.
Our experience has been from Institutional projects to Industrial projects to Municipal projects and a variety of Manufacturing Plant projects.
We are well versed in servicing all of the electrical needs for a wide variety of clients.We are looking for a Material Purchaser/Project Coordinator to assist our Project Managers and other support staff. We provide a unique experience to those looking to gain exposure in a dynamic organization.
We are a leader in the construction industry, equipping our team of skilled professionals with vision, guidance and tools, required to bring construction projects to life.
Working side by side with our team of Project Managers and Superintendents, you will provide project coordination support to the project team.
Responsibilities of the position would include:
- Receiving purchase requisitions from Project Managers and field staff.
- Sourcing and purchasing materials for various jobs at the lowest cost.
- Ensuring materials are promptly delivered to sites.
- Completing assigned purchase orders.
- Coordinating returns with suppliers and staff.
- Track and log shop drawings, site instructions and RFI's.
- Communicate information both verbally and written to staff and subtrades.
- Ability to collaborate and communicate with others including staff and subtrades.
- Prepare material takeoffs and pricing, assist as with tasks as required.
- Assist with record keeping and managing shipments.
- Participate in project scheduling and planning.
- Assist with preparing reports, LEED daily, and Safety
- Participate in Site Visits and Meeting Minutes.
- Must be available for working flexible hours and overtime as required.
- Other job duties as assigned.
Qualifications and skills of the position would include:
- Experience purchasing and working in an administrative role.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Proven ability to think critically and resolve conflicts that may arise between shared information with subtrades.
- Proven ability to work within a team and independently with mínimal supervision.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks meeting tight deadlines.
Assets of this position would include:
- Experience in the Construction Industry.
- Knowledge of the Construction industry practices and standards.
- Currently enrolled in a registered coop program (CET, Construction Management program) is an asset. A combination of skills, experience and education are considered.
