Clinician Position In Anesthesiology
Temporary position Full time Duration: 1 year or more

The _Faculté de médecine vétérinaire _(FMV) of the _Université de Montréal_ is currently seeking qualified
capital of Quebec with inhabitants. The FMV is located 60 km (37 miles) from Montreal, a vibrant city
with an international airport and excellent flight connections to Europe and the USA. The FMV is also within
easy reach of the beautiful, historic Quebec City and Ottawa, the capital of Canada. The FMV is located off
campus but maintains strong collaborative ties to other faculties at the _Université de Montréal_ and other
universities within the province. A structured mentorship program is available for newly hired clinicians.


As a clinician, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the excellence of the _Faculté de _**
_médecine vétérinaire_:Through your teaching (for a maximum of 90% of the appointment), you will also ensure the visibility of
your discipline and your research activities in addition to actively participate in the operation of a renowned
institution (for a minimum of 10% of the appointment)


As such, you will:


Participate in clinical teaching through provision of care and services meeting the different needs of
the anesthesiology service clientele (small animals, exotic, equine and bovine patients); 

Participate in clinical teaching of interns and residents in anesthesiology; 

Supervise veterinary students and rotating interns and residents; 

Evaluate student learning; 

Provide educational advice and assistance to students.

Cases seen in the anaesthesia department are varied and come from the companion animal, equine and
farm animal hospitals, as well as from the zoological medicine department.


To succeed in this role, you must have the following qualifications: 
Doctor in veterinary medecine or equivalent degree; 

Completion of a formal residency training program in anesthesiology; 

Work experience (possibly including work experience during residency) and interest in clinical
teaching of anesthesiology in an academic environment; 

Obtain a licence to practice veterinary medicine issues by the Ordre des médecins vétérinaires du
Québec; 

An adequate knowledge of the French written and spoken language
or a strong commitment to
mastering the proficiency level required, in accordance to Université de Montréal's Language
Policy.
