About the role:

Under the supervision of the TRHP Residential Coordinator, the Support Worker (SW) is responsible for supporting the residents with their daily needs and ensuring the safety and security of the residence.

This includes performing various tasks related to assisting with ADLs/IADLs, activity monitoring, behaviour tracking, building maintenance, administrative tasks and cleaning.


  • University Degree/College Diploma in a Social Services program
    OR working towards the completion of one.
  • Two (2) years of experience working with clients with complex needs, including mental health
  • Experience working in a residential setting.
  • Having attained the required skills and/or be willing to be trained in:
  • Suicide Intervention (ASIST)
  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI/CPI)
  • First Aid/CPR (Level C)
  • Mental Health First Aid (MHFA)
  • Bilingual preferred (English/French)
  • Other languages will be considered an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal skills & client service skills.
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships with staff, peers, program partners and industry contacts in a team environment.
  • Experience supporting individuals with concurrent disorders, physical, mental and cognitive challenges.
  • Understanding of best practices and philosophies in service provision to individuals with complex needs.
  • Basic cooking ability
