    • Client Engagement: Discussions and presentations with clients keep us at the forefront of IC design.

    About the role

You'll be working on state-of-the-art TIA and Driver designs for silicon photonics applications operating at very high speeds. The blocks will be integrated with photonics elements to build a high-speed electro-optical system. You'll be responsible for active circuit development, design, and sign-off in a technical leadership role.

    Qualifications We're Seeking

    • We're looking for designers to work on electronic circuit design which interface directly with optical elements, hence experience with both electrical and photonic circuit design is a prime focus for this role
    • Education: Minimum of a Masters or PhD in Electrical Engineering with a focus on IC design.
    • Experience: 3+ years of design experience, including knowledge of Optical front-end receivers and transmitters (TIAs, Drivers), CTLE, DFE, ADC, DAC, oscillators, PLLs, and more.
    • SerDes/High-Speed Expertise: If you've tackled a SerDes or high-speed circuit design (>10GS/s), that's a significant asset.
    • Silicon Proven: Multiple silicon designs taped out with measured results? You're our kind of engineer.
    • Photonics design (PD, MRM, MZ elements) experience a significant asset
    • Co-design and co-simulation of photonics and electronics experience a big plus
    • SOI or FinFet Know-How: Experience in SOI or FinFet process nodes? Even better.
    • Coding Skills: Comfortable with scripting, programming, and tools like MATLAB/Simulink and Python.
    • Team Player: Excellent communication, presentation skills, and a strong team player.
    • Location: Strong preference for those eligible to work within Canada.

    Perks and Benefits

    • Competitive Compensation: We value your expertise and offer highly competitive pay.
    • Great Work Environment: StarIC is a growing company with a fantastic work atmosphere.
    • Hybrid Work: This position is eligible for hybrid work, giving you flexibility.
    • Integrated Circuit Design Experience: Only applicants with multiple IC tape-outs will be considered.

    Ready to Shape the Future?
