Corporate Financial Analyst - Corporate Finance and Analysis (Hybrid)

We are currently looking for a highly curious and self-motivated individual with an aptitude of process improvement and financial analysis to join our Corporate Finance Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team at J.D.

Irving, Limited (JDI) in the role of Financial Analyst.


The Role
This is a fast-paced environment working within a team that is exposed to senior management. In this role, you'll be helping drive value by improving the FP&A at JDI.

Reporting to the Team Lead, you will have the opportunity to:

Corporate Finance and Analysis is made up of a collection of people with diverse backgrounds and skillsets.

We work closely with great teams across Finance and our operations to implement and improve finance solutions regarding financial modeling, data visualization, and analysis.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist with preparation of internal and external presentation materials
  • Research, prepare and present financial assumptions
  • Prepare and analyze competitor benchmark data to create enduser visualizations
  • Participate in the quarterly review and budget preparations and analysis
  • Assist in the collection of the data from all parties
  • Analyze the data and create commentary around the data for senior leaders
  • Prepare financial analysis to support financial business decisions and improve performance
  • Special projects and adhoc analysis as required

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance, Economics, or related discipline
  • Professional Accounting/Finance designation or actively pursuing is an asset (CFA, CPA)
  • 23 years of accounting, finance, or related experience
  • High degree of curiosity
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to manage tight deadlines and prioritize in a fastpaced and dynamic environment
  • Strong organizational skills and a strong sense of urgency
  • Familiarity with Bloomberg, CAPIQ, or other research tools is an asset
  • Familiarity with TM1, Tableau, or other analytical tools is an asset
