38.381 Urban Geography - Monday to Thursday - April :00 - 11:30 AM
Currently, about half of the world's population lives in urban areas, and this percentage is steadily increasing.

It is, therefore, not surprising that the study of urban settlements, and the effects of urban settlements on non-urban areas, has become one of the major fields in Geography.

Urban Geography provides an introduction to the nature, scope, and methods of this field.

The course looks at the historical and contemporary processes of urbanization, studies the external relationships of cities, and also deals with the internal structure of cities.

Finally, a summary of urban problems will be given and patterns of future urbanization will be suggested.
