    As an i ntermediate platform development engineer within our s ite reliability engineering team , you will be responsible for the design, development, and optimization of our monitoring, logging and alerting platforms. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including operations engineers, infrastructure and network teams.

    We practice a remote-first working model, leveraging in-person interactions at our head office, in beautiful Vancouver, BC, for strategic, collaborative, and social purposes.

    What you will do:

  • Design and development of self-service capabilities for our reliability platforms
  • Develop monitoring features for our systems and tools to proactively detect and address production issues, ensuring high availability and uptime
  • Deployment and maintenance of reliability platforms using infrastructure as code/configuration management
  • Propose and implement improvements to existing platforms by staying up-to-date on industry best practices and emerging technologies related to site reliability engineering
  • Work closely with other platform development engineers, operations and infrastructure teams to align platform development efforts with business objectives and technical requirements
  • Participate in service level agreement/post incident reviews and provide guidance for preventing recurrence and minimizing downtime
  • Collaborate with various teams to conduct capacity planning and resource optimization, ensuring adequate capacity to meet current and future demand
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of platform architecture, configurations, and processes to facilitate knowledge sharing and collaboration across teams

    • What we are looking for:

  • 3+ years working as a developer focusing on scripting languages and frontend development (eg: Python, Ruby, Html, Css, Js)
  • 2+ years experience using IaC and configuration management tooling (e.g. Ansible, Terraform)
  • 2+ years working with monitoring and visualization platforms (eg: Dynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana, Solarwinds)
  • 2+ years working with logging and alerting platforms (eg: Elastic Search, PagerDuty, GoAlert).
  • 2+ years working with cloud computing providers (eg: Azure, AWS or GCP)
  • 2+ years working with deployment and orchestration of containerized applications (eg: OpenShift, Kubernetes or Docker)
  • Experience working on the Linux operating system
