The Company
Preformed Line Products is a worldwide designer, manufacturer and supplier of high-quality cable anchoring systems, control hardware systems, fiber optic and copper splice closures.
The Quality Assurance Inspector reports to the Quality Manager and is responsible for the day-to-day monitoring of product and process quality.
This inspector position is particularly responsible for the Underground and Receiving Inspection areas of PLP Canada's operations, though support for other areas may be required on an intermittent basis.
Job Duties include:
- Responsible for incoming inspection, shipping inspection, first offin process inspection and the maintenance of all reports related to inspection
- Inspection of raw materials, WIP and finished goods to PLP specifications.
- Accurate monitoring, maintaining, and processing of QA records.
- Shipping and receiving inspection.
- Communication of quality standards for parts and processes to the production floor staff.
- Identification of all nonconforming materials, product, or processes and generating hold tags as needed.
- Testing of raw materials, manufactured products and finished goods to internal and external standards using onhand test equipment.
- Participating in the investigation and followup of nonconformances as required.
- Participating in the review and development of Quality procedures and work instructions as required.
- Develop and support best practices, act as PLP ambassador and improve quality processes.
- Participating in process improvement activities as required.
- Actively contributing to the health & safety practices.
Education / Experience:
- Microsoft Excel
- Blueprint reading
- Metrology
- ISO training and / or auditing experience
- Knowledgeable in aspects of Health and Safety in the workplace, including WHMIS
- Strong computer skills including the ability to prepare document using Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel).
- Basic Knowledge of ERP System
- Strong collaborative and team skills

- A strong ability to be adaptable and flexible
