- Provide executive oversight for supportive living, complex services, and community programs.
- Lead annual operational planning and contribute to corporate strategic planning.
- Ensure person‑centred service delivery and adherence to individualized support plans.
- Oversee staffing, workforce planning, and resource allocation across program areas.
- Develop and manage program and individualized budgets.
- Authorize expenditures within delegated authority and ensure financial accountability.
- Monitor variances and provide accurate, timely reporting.
- Ensure programs meet or exceed Quality Assurance Measures, accreditation standards, and legislative requirements.
- Lead program evaluation, quality improvement, and compliance monitoring.
- Identify risks, analyze system trends, and develop mitigation strategies.
- Lead change initiatives and support teams through transitions.
- Monitor sector developments and assess their impact on Ongwanada.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to support smooth implementation of new processes or programs.
- Provide coaching, mentorship, and performance oversight to management teams.
- Foster a culture of transparency, accountability, and continuous learning.
- Recruit, orient, and support the development of team members.
- University degree in Human Services, Behavioural Sciences, Social Work, or related field (Master's preferred).
- Advanced education or certification in developmental disabilities, mental health, autism, or addictions.
- 6–8 years of progressive leadership experience in developmental services, human services, non‑profit, or broader public sector.
- Experience leading in a unionized environment (preferred).
- Strong knowledge of developmental services, relevant legislation, and quality standards.
- Demonstrated financial management and budgeting experience.
- Exceptional communication, relationship‑building, conflict resolution, and strategic planning skills.
- Ability to lead large teams with a collaborative, coaching‑oriented approach.

The Opportunity
Ongwanada is seeking a strategic, values‑driven Senior Director, Community & Support Services to provide executive leadership across our Supportive Living, Complex Services, and Community Program portfolios. This role plays a pivotal part in shaping organizational culture, strengthening person‑centred practices, and ensuring high‑quality, compliant service delivery for individuals and families across Eastern Ontario.
The Senior Director leads a large multidisciplinary workforce (5–6 direct reports; 300+ indirect staff), oversees program operations and budgets, ensures compliance with legislative and accreditation standards, and builds strong relationships with funders, partners, and community stakeholders.
