Role:
Summer Sport Camp Instructor-in-Training (Volunteer)

The Summer Sport Camp Instructor-in-Training will work under the supervision of our Sport Camp Instructors and Lead. The Instructor-in-Training's role is to enhance our Summer Sport Camp experience for our campers.


When:
Camps run weekly from July 4, 2023 to August 30, 2023. Must be available for training at the end of June (June 24, 2023 for a half day).


Reports to:
Volunteer Coordinator & Camp Leads

What You'll Do:

Volunteers will be responsible to assist the Camp Instructors with:

  • Delivering fun, active and creative programs to children and youth
  • Assist in keeping campers focused during each activity
  • Providing a positive, safe and welcoming environment
  • Implementing arts/crafts, games and physical activities
  • Interacting with the children and youth while being a positive role model
  • Be an active participant in the pools during swim time while ensuring safety
  • Most of all having fun with the children and youth

What You'll Need:


  • Availability and commitment for a minimum of one full week of camp (5 days).
  • Be between the ages of 13 to 1
  • Volunteers should be comfortable interacting with campers and parents
  • Must be energetic and enthusiastic about working with children, and at the same time demonstrate maturity and professionalism
