ROLE SUMMARY

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Program Development & Delivery (Facilitation)

  • Keeps informed of various support and community development approaches.
  • Research novel programming opportunities.
  • Facilitates programming, classes, workshops, and experiences in person and/or virtually.
  • Moderates and facilitates online help and experiences to create meaningful virtual environments.
  • Fosters an environment of growth, curiosity and creativity.
  • Assists with the practical and technical requirements of program delivery.
  • Seeks out opportunities to collaborate and partner with other internal departments or teams and externally with natural community supports and/or service providers to gather insights and develop persondirected experiences.
  • Promotes supported decision making, consent and choice and holds these values in moments of opposing tension.

Program Operations

  • Provides orientation, facilitates classes, and supervises volunteers and students; provides emotional support to individuals participating in art sessions, and engages in conflict resolution, and safeguards the welfare of people within the program.
  • Works with individuals and support staff from various agencies, community members, parents and caregivers, volunteers, students and community instructors.
  • Handles the preparation of individual and group activities, including developing lesson plans, scheduling classes, and producing an activity schedule.
  • Prepares all documentation related to classes, events and activities, including volunteer and student coordination.
  • Ensures IPAC measures are communicated, implemented and documented as required.
  • Administers Rapid Antigen Testing and preforms screening as required.
  • Completes tasks necessary to ensure the program space, including outdoor, office, and storage space, is wellmaintained which may include general and enhanced cleaning, setting up and rearranging the workspaces for classes, activities and special events.
  • Planning and preparing for neighborhoodbased activities.

Program Administration

  • Provides feedback to Program Supervisor regarding areas of program need
  • Documents process, content and facilitation guidelines.
  • Provides orientation for new direct support professionals.
  • Manages a broad range of administrative duties on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis including case coordination, incident reports, class registrations and fees, dropin participants, instructor fees; supports registration using MyCommunityHub.
  • Plans special events, including scheduling, coordinating and execution of all eventrelated activities, purchasing food and supplies, event setup and breakdown, and cleanup after events.
  • Participates in and follows up on monthly Health and Safety checks and maintains required onsite documentation.

  • Completes and informs programrelated marketing, including advertisements, social media posts and community newspaper writeups and interviews, pamphlets, community postings, and website development.
  • Arranges for staff coverage for vacations and other coverage as required; participates in monthly staff meetings.
  • Handles ordering and purchasing for the program using a Community Living Toronto credit card and or purchasing process. Retains purchase documentation and accurately reports and codes expenditures in SAP Concur in accordance with Association procedures.

Direct Individual Support

  • Understands their role to be that of an enabler for people supported to meaningfully engage in experiences that promote social, emotional, vocational and community participation skills.
  • Serves as liaison with a participant's network.
  • Promoting a "community first" approach when coordinating activities such as identifying natural neighborhoodbased supports (e.g., gyms), participating in paid or unpaid work, taking courses, or joining a group or activity of interest.
  • Actively seeks out ongoing feedback from individuals and their support networks to evolve current programing and to inform future program development.
  • Works with individuals to design and implement modifications for accessibility and to assist participants experiencing ongoing challenges which may impact access to support.
  • Helps individuals to identify skill development needs and either facilitates opportunities for development or assists individuals to access learning to develop the skills required to meaningfully participate in chosen activities.
  • Provides support from a persondirected, coaching perspective.

Community Partners

  • Develops and maintains relationships with community partners, current and potential employers, local businesses & BIAs.
  • Participates in various Community of Practices and other professional development activities.
  • Attends community meetings, fundraising events, exhibition and conference outreach, builds relationships, networking and public education engagements.
