Job Description:

Stackpole International is excited to announce we are now recruiting for an Automation Specialist at our Stratford, Ontario facility.

This position is responsible for creation of New Automation projects, Robot programming, automation debugging, installation and startup of new or modified automated cells use in production machines and inspection equipment from the perspective of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and controls installation.

Also, responsible for the sustenance of automation cells documentation from the perspective of obtaining and updating technical reference manuals, instructions and electrical schematics required to service this automation cells as long term.


Your responsibilities will be to:

  • Prepare SOR for the new automation projects.
  • Work experience in Various Automation projects from RFQ to Final installation and handover Automation cells to Production.
  • Troubleshooting and diagnostics Robot automation Cells provide technical support in troubleshooting and repair of existing equipment/automation in order to minimize machine or cell downtimes.
  • Hands on technical skills with respect to Mechanical Assembly, Machine Repair, Electrical Systems, Hydraulic Systems, Pneumatic Systems, PLC and CNC based control and logic systems.
  • Provide support for Manufacturing Engineering, Maintenance, Q.A and Production to optimize and upgrade production equipment/automation cells.
  • Modifications of existing production equipment to interface Robot automation.
  • Setting up robot cells including vision and force monitoring (Fanuc, Motoman and ABB).
  • Work experience in review & modifying PLCs programs, HMIs, vision and motion systems, safety controllers etc.
  • Knowledge of Electrical design components selection, prepare schematics
  • Solid understanding of Industrial electrical methods and general best practices relating to automation
  • Working with Mechanical Designers, attending design reviews and supporting mechanical design and electrical design & controls side.
  • Solid understanding of Industrial electrical methods and general best practices relating to automation
  • Backup Robot & PLC program and keep current programs in the system.

Our Requirements are:

  • A technical diploma or Degree in automation engineering technology and relevant industrial experience. 5+ years' experience in an automation environment.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in Robot Programming and modifying existing robot programs (Fanuc, Motoman and ABB).
  • Work experience in PLC programming (Omron NJ/Allen Bradley)
  • Excellent communications, negotiating, conflict management, and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Able to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, at all levels of the organization.
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results orientated.
  • Coordinate continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Proficiency in related software and robotics.
  • ACAD & Solidwork, PC experience.
  • Organize teams meetings & work with Internal and external customers/vendors new or existing automation projects.
